Rest in peace, Eddie

Recently, one of the greatest superstars in WWE passed away. I' m referring to the one and only Eddie Guerrero. I want to use this blog to express my sympathy and give my condolences to his family and all his friends. He certainly represented in some way an identity that we latins have in many cases (not everybody is like that though). Anyways, despite there were times in which the american wwe fans detested him, he still was able to win the hearts of many americans. He will always be remebered as Latino Heat. For all what you gave in the ring and the many great moments in which you made many people laugh, Eddie, thank you!
Rest in peace now, you deserve it. Viva la Raza!!!!!!!!!!

a little story for us to consider: Part 2

Many months have passed since the boy Dorsh was found by the wizard. Ever since the day they met, it was very clear for the wizard that Dorsh needed to be educated as many people complained against the wizard for the boy stole them food. When the wizard told him that he wanted to teach him something, the boy got extremely thrilled as he asked the wizard: "Are you going to show me that light again?". The wizard quickly answered him "Ehh.. no, first you have to learn other things that you do not know". The boy immediately asked him "When are you going to show me that light again?". The wizard did not know how to answer as he never had the intention to teach him something that required so much responsability as magic did. He was not good at teaching at all and did not know how to treat children also. After a brief hesitation, the wizard told him "All right, I will show you the light you saw some day, but on the condition you learn other things that are more important first". The boy reacted enthusiastic about this proposal. He was absolutely determined to learn and see that light that took him out of the dim hole in which he was in one more time, and perhaps more. No matter how many other things the wizard taught him, he always did those other things only to see the light again.
Mathematics, history, cooking, other languages and most importantly, Ethics, specifically the difference between good and bad were the things that young Dorsh learnt in four years. The wizard was very surprised that he could learn all those things in so little time. However, Dorsh always had in mind that he would learn magic if he kept the good work. Finally, Mr. Crowgan decided to send him to the school where he learnt the basic aspects of magic. The Wizard's association, it was called. The day before he left, Crowgan made a party in his honour to wish him luck in the wizard's college. Dorsh did not have a good time, but instead thought everything he would live from that moment. He wanted to leave as soon as possible as that place got nothing to offer him any longer. The wizard said he would go to visit him some times, but he did not believe him as the last three years he lived with him, the wizard was very busy to look after him appropriately. He did not care also as he had become more independent.

Finally, he entered the Magicians' academy, where many hundreds of new applicants entered every single year, but where many left at once also. They had very strict professors, but in order for students to learn magic, they had to pass through many stages before the learning itself as human beings could not make use of that power without doing some special training. This training, however, had an initial state where the key was to see if students had the will and talent to see things that were impossible for the common eye to see. They got the meditation training, which was the first state. This consisted on staying in the same place without moving and looking very closely to absolutely everything there was in the environment. As they remained there for a long time, students realized that they could see things that at the beginning they could not see. This stage was mostly to enhance perception and make all 5 senses work beyond the average. That training was the basis of the magic learning since students had to practise it every single morning after having breakfast. Dorsh did pretty well in this stage as he did not overlook any single detail he had around. Many however, got bored with this and left the academy as they considered it a waste of time. This really helped the instructors for they got rid of many students at once without having exposing them to magic, something which the Wizard's Association considered dangerous if the students learnt it for selfish reasons.
Dorsh had no problem with this stage and he, and many others quickly passed to the second stage. Something which Dorsh as well as the other students did not know was that this stage will become a turning point in all their lives.

about the story: A whole different world

I know this may sound rather strange for the ones who had read the story of the little kid. First of all, this world is a marvellous world, typical of Fantasy. However, do not think this is a world that has no relation at all with the world as we know it today, since the human history is related in some way to this world I created. To make it more clear, think that in a point in the future something happened which almost caused the human race to disappear. The cause of this global phenomenon was due to the earth's response to protect itself from us. In simpler words, the earth got tired of the overexploitation of the natural resources that it decided to do something about humans. However, in this world, the earth did not use hurricanes such as Katrina, Wilma and other natural disasters to defend iteself from us. Instead the earth used the creatures that were in control of this earth before humans appeared from nothing in this world. These creatures were known as the earth conjurers. These creatures did not have emotions, they were like robots as if they were programmed to maintain the land fertile, in other words, their only purpose in life was to protect the land. They took care of the trees, the grass, the plants, the seas, the rivers, the mountains and all the places that exist so that everything could remain safe and sound in that world of absolute peace. Yet, when humans appeared, all of this changed drastically.

After humans appeared, humans immediately feared these creatures due to the fact that they thought they were demons sent by god. All men and women thought they had to get rid of these creatures, so they immediately started killing them with no reason. At the same time, humans began to exploit the land and due to this fear of these so called 'monsters', they destroyed everything the earth conjurers had worked for. These creatures were so very connected to the Earth as it is a kid to his mother and father, that they started feeling, but something that they should not have known: hatred. Due to being in contact with humans, conjurers began to feel all the negative aspects of the human race as they were never exposed to the good ones. Hatred, fear, despair; each negative emotion that usually drives humans to commit the most horrible actions that any creature in this earth can imagine; were the only emotions that these creatures felt. As the humans continued their massacre, the conjurers finally decided to strike back against all what humans did to them. By using a very powerful weapon that humans did not have the capacity to use, the conjurers took control of the situation by killing every single human they encountered.

Many doubts arouse in the human's mind as apparently, all the creatures they killed before seemed to return from hell to take their revenge against humans, but as humans evolved, they realized that these was so as the conjurers did not die by conventional means as humans did. The first difference with humans is that their bodies were not made of flesh as humans did, but of pure solid soil. Second, they were not affected by any disease known in the human race. Because of that, they could live over a period of almost four or five centuries. Third, they did not use reason to move, for they had no logic to stand on. They only acted by instinct, just as a wild beast would do, yet this was the way humans thought they acted, since they did acquire reason with the time, but only the stronger ones who have been born in certain privileged territories were able to master it, while the others could assimilate it only to a certain extent since it was beyond their means to understand. In addition, conjurers could use 'magic', a very strange power in which they could invoke the power of nature, the power of their fellows and also the power of the Spirits and even, the power of the Gods (it is fantasy, so please assume it). This ability was quite investigated by the world of humans, until they realized that they could make use of it as they grew wiser. Unfortunately for them, their bodies had a limit as some magic enchantements were beyond their physical and mental power.

Finally, and most importantly, conjurers had the ability to come back from death, yet not in the way humans would expect in those times. Conjurers could revive, since every time they were killed or they have lived for too long, they were absorbed by the ground in order to restructure the composition of their bodies. After months or years of being underground the conjurers returned to life just as if they were a baby, since they could live for another five centuries easily. They repeated the process time after time. Nevertheless, even though conjurers could not die by conventional means, they could be stain by using specific techniques. They were severely affected by ice and fire. In places of cold temperatures, all conjurers froze more quickly than a human being would do,. Freezing made them unable to return to the ground, so they would remain in that state if everything did not release them nor antything. In the case of fire, if a conjurer was burnt and turned into ashes, the remains of that conjurer could not return to earth either.

For the sake of the this world, as the years have passed, human beings have realized that they need conjurers to survive in that world as without them, the land would not be fertile enough to grow any type of food they need. Any time that the conjurers are killed and return to the ground, they make the land fertile enough to allow many trees or plants to grow. In some way, this gave the humans some benefits to consider, so they created a law that penalized killing any conjurer by using fire or ice. This provoked great concern among certain people who could not accept this for they wanted to get rid of these creatures, but they were blind to the fact that without the conjurers they could not survive; so, it was better to be in danger at those times. The problem of this law caused the men and women to split into two groups: the wizards' association and the monks. The wizards, in one hand were the ones who considered necesary to respect that law and never take any kind of discrimination for they only wanted to send conjurers to sleep. On the other hand, the monks considered necessary to exterminate all those beasts by all means. Nevertheless, despite their differences, they both fought the conjurers whenever they attacked.

For the following years, humans and conjurers have been fighting continuously for the supremacy of the earth causing only more hatred between themselves and obviously, more unnecessary death. In the present, humans have taken the advantage in this war, but their war was certainly far from over.

a little story for us to consider: Part 1

This story is about a man who certainly marked many destinies during his life. This man was born in a very poor town which had almost nothing for humans to survive and which eventually disappeared due to a strange plague where that man was the only survivor. During the few years in which this man lived there, his life was a miserable one. He did not have a father as his mother was rapped by another man, reason by which he was not treated very well by his mother. She always considered him a nuisance as she did not want to feed him and also, she did not have the money to do so. She used to send him to buy her some alcohol and some other strange drugs, which he did not know what they were for. During these times, usually, many kids three or five years older than him stole him the drinks he bought for his mother; many of the times as an order from their parents or for the kids themselves. Her mother never told him off despite this as she knew well that the town hated her for dishonouring them for having given birth to a child from a man that killed many people in the past in that town. Nobody pitied her or her child since she also was a whore.
As the years went by, this little child got beaten almost everyday by other boys in their need for alcohol. He was known as 'the dummy' as he did not show any emotions every time he was brutally beaten by these cruel kids. Many thought that the main reason of his lack of emotions was due to the careless attitude of his mother who neither protected him nor cure him from his wounds. The famous proverb that 'time heals all wounds' did not seem to apply for this boy as he had many injuries all over his body. Black eyes, nose bleeding and a cut in his eyebrow were part of everyday life for this kid.
Although many people abused this boy, he lhad the appearance of an adult for he was one metre and 50 at the short age of 10. He was a child of dark complexion, dark brown hair and because of the continuous beating he received, he looked very strong and athletic. In spite of suffering the worst beatings many people can imagine, this boy got so much used to pain and beatings that he did not feel pain in those beatings anymore. Due to that, many boys stopped messing with him and he finally could focus on getting food to survive. As it was the law in that town, this boy stole food from certain corp fields in order to survive the day.
One day, the boy's mother got terribly sick because of an strange illness. Because of the lack of wizards (who were doctors in this world, next day I 'll explain), in the town, the people were very so concerned that they sent somebody to go for a wizard so that he could investigate this strange virus. The illness spread very quick through the town, but despite that, the people were confident that the man who they sent would return with a wizard, however, the man did not appear. As the virus started taking its first victims in which the boy's mother was included, despair took control of everybody in the town, except of the kid. After his mother's death, the boy left the town as he did not find any food nor any reason to continue living in that awful town.
As he walked on the desert, his legs did not have the strength to continue since he had not eaten anything for seven days straight. Finally, he fell and accepted his fate. As he laid in the middle of the desert he wondered if the town was still in feet for when he had left it, it was a complete chaos. Then, suddenly, after a brief blackout, he saw a light, a light that covered his whole body. When he turned back he saw a man with a long black beard wearing a blue coat, and an odd pair of gauntlets. He was the responsible for that light as he was healing all the injuries he had in his body. After a short silence, the man asked the child: 'Are you all right, what happened to you kid?'. The boy did not answer as he was fascinated with that strange light that the man was producing. When the man was about to repeat the question, the boy, extremely thrilled, asked him what was that light. The man told him it was 'magic'. Later, after giving the boy some food and some water the man told him that the reason why he was able to produce that light was simply because he was a wizard. The boy immediately realized that the man who he was talking to was the wizard sent to cure the town's terrible plague. After confirming the man's identity, the wizard told him that he had already been in the town, yet when he arrived everybody was already dead as the plague had killed them all. The boy told him that he was from that town, but curiously enough, the strange disease had not affected him. The man told him that it was possible that a certain curse may have fallen upon the boy's town since many dark things had happened in that territory in the past. Nevertheless, the only possible answer the wizard found was that the curse only affected people who had known evil, something that the child ignored what it was, as he had never been taught what things were good or bad.
The boy followed the wizard, something that the wizard thought it was his responsability of doing as he felt guilty for not arriving on time to save that town and at the same time, he pitied the boy. The man took him to the nearest town where they could speak more comfortable and suddenly realized that he had not introduced himself. 'I am Mr. Crowgan' he said, 'what's yours?'. The boy told him he could not remember his first name, but only his surname. 'Well, ok, we will find you a new name later, but now tell me your surname'. Turning to him, the boy answered him, ' My name is Dorsh'. The wizard was very curious as he did not know what that meant, and after looking in a dictionary from dead languages, he found that in an ancient civilization, that word meant: 'cancer'.

Chilean football team: Finally dead

This entry would be in English in order for me to practise my English that many times I try to avoid. For the English people who still remember the 2 - 0 in Wembley previous France 98' in which Chile surprised everybody with that score that humilliated the English team.Well, nowadays, the image of that team remains as a vague memory as for the escond straight time, the Chilean football team got eliminated yesterday. Although this time the team did much better than the previous one (Korea-Japan), it certainly wasn't what we chileans expected from them. It really hurts, besides the elimination, that there was no single match in which this team was absolutely cuperior to their opponents. Yes, we got many opportunities to get the tickets to face Australia, but this team did not have the merits to do that. I don't know what is going top happen for the next qualifying process, but one thing is certain, a change has to be made. This change means firing many of the directives of ANFP (in English, the National Professional Football Association) who are only worried of keeping their pockets full rather than for the nation's future in Football. It is also necessary to fire the president of this association, Mr. Reinaldo Sanchez who is one, if not the worst, president that our country has had. Hoping that many things change for the next period, I have to say for now, Chilean football team, Rest in Peace!

Just in case

Lavin vs. Government: a dull discussion

Chile is not dead
